For more than 100 years , the place where the tavern is located has been linked to codfish. We always dreamed of having a snack tavern, an objective that we finally managed to achieve by acquiring a space in this historic place and now we serve the best traditional dishes in Trancoso, always respecting the strong connection of this place to codfish.

Trancoso is a place that is worth visiting and revisiting over and over again and when your appetite sets in, you have to regain strength - there you will taste the food from the Taberna do Bacalhau Frito. You can eat the cod, the gizzards, or the veal flap, but the “real” fries are a temptation that cannot be resisted. The welcome was 5 *, either by João or by the kitchen owner who presented us with the preparation of the pitões.

Nice place with a 5 star service. Good and homemade food. The sweet sardines, a typical sweet from the region that became a pleasant surprise.

The facilities are impeccable, the food has a lot of flavor, however, the service is poorly organized, you expect a lot to eat, being a small space should improve the quality of services.
